Matilda Plains
The Matilda Plains winery and wines are named after the Willson family border collie dog Matilda. The dog had the canny knack of knowing when the sugar level was rising in the grapes and on her morning walks would sample the fruit. When she stopped spitting out the grapes the vineyard staff knew it was time to start collecting samples.

Designed specifically to allow the winemaking team to hand craft each individual batch of wine and with a temperature controlled barrel shed, Matilda Plains is the home to the latest Bremerton label of Sauvignon Blanc and a Shiraz/Cabernet blend. This pair of wines is made from the Willson family vineyards at Langhorne Creek where attention to detail and quality parameters are high. The excellent balance between fruit flavours, tannin and acid with a delightful rounded finish make these an exciting pair of wines.
The high tech winery, completed in 2002, is on the plains between Langhorne Creek and the shores of Australia's largest freshwater lake, Alexandrina.
