Independents Note:

Leaping Lizard Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2009 A cracking good wine for this price. Made to capture the fresh zinginess of these varieties with the strength of sav blanc and the lifted, grassy lemony characters of semillon. It has a delightfully fresh mouth feel with a bright natural acid. Superb-value wine. West Australian Thursday 26/11/2009

Grapes:

82% Semillon 18% Sauvignon Blanc

What to eat with:

A wine to enjoy on its own or with a fresh seafood salad.

Information being updated
A very cool start to the season, specifically in November and December, was followed by a long, warm Indian summer providing close to ideal ripening conditions for all varieties. The two varieties, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, benefitted from the cooler summer months, sufficiently protected from the hot sun to retain freshness and acidity. The grapes were harvested in the early morning, and crushed ever so gently to the press. Juice was patiently drained and settled prior to controlled fermentation. The wine is bottled young to maintain freshness and natural acidity. Keep a bottle cool for summer months.
