Founded in 1700, Vergelegen (meaning “situated far away”), is located on the slopes of the Hottentots Holland mountain range overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the region of Somerset West. Some of the world’s great explorers and visionaries have owned the Estate and helped to shape Vergelegen into what it is today. This stunning world-class Estate, blends its rich heritage, beauty and sustainability with vision and innovation.
