Tasting note
Deep magenta in colour, while the nose exhibits notes of warm, dusty roads, black cherries, bay leaves, ripe plums and dark chocolate. This is a silky, finely rendered Shiraz, with a supple texture and very good length. The palate sees those bright, black cherries really come to the fore while there is a fine line of acidity running the length.
Vintage conditions
The 2023 vintage was a cool to warm year, with above-average rainfall in the winter and spring leading up to the vintage, which ensured the soil was well hydrated. However, there was little rainfall during the growing season, which allowed the vines to ripen the fruit without excess moisture, reducing disease risk. Harvest picking dates were much later than normal resulting wines produced all have great colour and strong flavour with a touch of elegance and amazing tannin structure
Vinification details
Harvested before dawn, 100% whole berry ferment in traditional open fermenters for approximately 10 days. Pressed to tank to finish ferment before being transferred to seasoned USA and French oak hogsheads for approximately 14 months. The final wine was blended and bottled un-fined and unfiltered.

Tasting note
Dense ruby and purple colours shine through a glass that has a heady aromatic profile of ripe plums, coffee, and bitter chocolate. Richly fruited with plums and mulberry notes, a deep undertone of black earth brings some savoury notes whilst sweeter oak nuances linger in the core. Tannins are gentle and guide it to a good length.
Vintage conditions
The 2022 vintage in the Barossa Valley was an exceptional one, with quality across the board. The growing season was characterized by mild temperatures and good rainfall, which resulted in close-to-average crops. The cool weather also helped to preserve acidity, which is essential for making long-lived wines. Shiraz was the star of the show in 2022, with wines showing great density of colour and flavour. The tannins were ripe and well-integrated, and the wines had a lovely balance of fruit and acid

Tasting note
A full-flavoured classic is the promise behind the very deep brick red colour. Notes of tea leaf, cedar, sweet berries, spice, and hints of vanilla aromas fill the glass. Ripe black forest fruits and spice are balanced by rounded tannins and seamless structure. The medium-bodied palate reflects the nose with flavours of cedar, stewed fruit and cigar box. Finer, soft tannins. A pleasant lingering finish with restrained oak notes and some mocha and tobacco. The wine has a fresh, vibrant palate with good depth of flavour and nice layering of fruit. A very drinkable wine that leaves you wanting more
Vinification details
The grapes are hand and machine harvested from Binder Estate Shiraz vineyards with average age of 30 years. Each parcel of grapes is crushed and fermented in open fermenters using pumpovers and heading down boards to maximise flavour extraction. The fermentation is completed in tank before the wine is racked to barrel. The wine is aged in a selection of older French (50%) and American (50%) oak for 18 months before final blending and bottling.
