Trentham Estate’s River Retreat range of wines is based on an initiative dedicated to raising awareness of the wetlands of the Murray Darling Region.
Tasting note
Light pale straw colour with lovely aromas of lychee and passionfruit,
plus a citrus component and a little fresh cut grass. The palate is
finely balanced with racy acidity and attractive fruit flavours. Finished
with balance and length.
Vinification details
The grapes were picked during the early hours then de -stemmed and transferred to the press. Free run juice and a portion of pressings were clarified then racked to ferment. The ferment was carried out with selected yeast to enhance the Sauvignon Blanc varietal characters. Long and cool fermentation to lock in aromatics. Post fermentation, the wine was stabilised, clarified and bottled.
