Guardian Peak's Merlot comes from a range of climates, from Mediterranean in Stellenbosch to more arid coastal regions, each giving unique characteristics.
Tasting note
A juicy combination of red and black fruit jump out of the glass showing plum, red and black currant and sweet baking spices. Supple tannins are in perfect harmony with ripe fruit and layered spicy notes of vanilla, cedar and spicy paprika.
Vinification details
The Merlot is vinified in a combination of open and closed top stainless steel fermenters to preserve the fresh fruit flavours. After fermentation the wine is transferred to seasoned French oak barrels for a further 6 months.

Expressive on the nose, with ripe damson plums, cherries and soft nutmeg spice. Refined, mouth-coating tannins balance well with rich fruit flavours of plum and raspberry coulis. Notes of molasses and roasted thyme create complexity.

Bold red fruit on the nose, cranberry and pomegranate with thyme. Juicy combination of fig, red currant and black plums on the palate balances with savoury flavours of tobacco, cedar, and liquorice. Soft, silky tannins with a medium body and hints of milk chocolate on the finish.
